Thyme Essential Oil has an earthy, herbal flavour that is a great addition for your pantry and to have on hand when you're cooking meat and savoury dishes. In addition to the unique flavour of thyme, this essential oil can also help to support a healthy immune system when taken internally
I enjoy cooking and learning new tricks in the kitchen, including ways to make my cooking experience easier. So I was intrigued to learn that cooking salt can be infused with essential oils and is a great way to flavour food in a healthy and fun way.
It turns out that salt is a complicated substance. Most of us add salt to our diets yet how many of us know what kind of salt to use, or how healthy each variety is? For my own infused salts, I have chosen Kosher Salt. So what exactly is Kosher salt and how does it differ from regular table sat?
According to BonAppetite.com:
Kosher salt is called kosher salt because the size of its crystals is ideal for drawing out moisture from meat, making it perfect for use in the koshering process. That’s also why we love to use it for cooking almost everything. Kosher salt is the MVP of our breakfast, lunch, and dinner seasoning game.
So far so good? Want to learn a little bit more about the different salts available while you listen to some groovy background music? Check out this video:

Tip: Make a larger amount of these infused cooking salts and store in an airtight container to have on hand anytime your recipe calls for kosher salt.
