Known for its distinct aroma and taste, Lime Essential Oil provides cleansing benefits when taken internally or used topically - making it the perfect oil for purifying skin, air, and surfaces. Lime Essential Oil is frequently used in entrées and beverages for its fresh, citrus flavor. It’s also an effective and natural surface cleaner and known for its ability to uplift, balance, and energize.
One of the primary constituents of Lime essential oil, beta pinene, is commonly used in perfumery. Additionally, some studies have shown that beta pinene has an effect on the monoaminergic system of the brain, which includes many of the brain’s chemicals and neurotransmitters. These studies have shown that beta pinene may help support balance of brain chemistry, possibly helping reduce sad feelings. Lime essential oil also includes the chemical constituent limonene, which contributes to Lime’s cleansing ability*, and its stimulating and enhancing effects on mood. The chemical makeup of Lime is what makes the oil so fragrant, uplifting, cleansing, and stimulating.

After moving to the Pacific Northwest is when I started to write. At first I thought of blogging as just another way to get money. But now, blogging for me has become a passion and I love sharing content with family, friends and now with anyone who comes across my blog. When I'm not blogging, you can catch me reading a book, watching a favorite tv show or movie or out and about looking for different trails to bring our pooch Hennessy along with us.
Easy Guacamole with Lime Essential Oil
Josh and I love Mexican food. It is definitely one of the things we miss from San Diego. If you happen to be in San Diego, check out our favorite Mexican restaurant El Indio. And if you do, don't forget to buy a bag of fresh tortilla chips, guacamole and salsa. Most Mexican restaurants use chopped tomatoes in their guacamole. In our version, we don't put any tomatoes. Instead we add a 1 1/2 tsp of cumin to give that Mexican flavor.
After receiving a few samples of essential oils, I wanted to experiment using Lime essential oil with my homemade guacamole. Although the lime essential had a strong refreshing scent, when added to the guacamole the scent is not to subtle. It blends perfect with the homemade guacamole and is a winner.
Prep & Cook Time: 15 minutes
4 medium avocadoes, mashed
1 Tbsp garlic paste
1/2 onion, diced
1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
1/2 lime, juiced
2 drops of lime essential oil
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp Pink Himalayan salt
1. In a medium bowl, combine and mix all ingredients.
2. Transfer into a container with a lid. Refrigerate for an hour. Serve with chips or add to your burrito or tacos.
*Quick Tip: To prevent the guacamole from turning into a brownish color after opening the container, squeeze a slice or 2 of lime every time evenly over guacamole.
