It turns out there are a lot of incredible ways to use Lavender Essential Oil in your kitchen and in your cooking.. who knew! From creating a calming aroma in your kitchen by putting a few drops your diffuser, to helping to soothe an oven burn, to creating a winning tea and cake combination, the list of ideas for using Lavender Essential Oil goes on and on!
And if you're not quite convinced that this delicate, floral aroma can be used elsewhere other than your comforting bathtub or on your pillow case, hopefully the recipe shared today will convince you otherwise. Truth be told, this recipe was inspired by one of the greatest chefs in modern history (yes, I'm a bit of a fan girl). Who am I referring to? Gordon Ramsay of course! Ramsay is a Michelin star chef who became a TV sensation after honing and perfecting his craft of creating brilliant cuisine for the past 30 years.
When I came upon Ramsay's recipe for mini chocolate ganache tarts, I immediately knew I wanted to give these gems a try. I must confess, I'm not the most brilliant baker in the world, but his recipe was very direct and to the point that I thought I would give it a try to see if I could pull it off. And I'm so glad that I did! It turned out perfectly.. but I will let you decide for yourself.

Delightful Mini Floral Chocolate Tarts
Although I admit that I am not the greatest baker in the world, I have to say these Mini Floral Chocolate Tarts were pretty easy to pull off! They would be fantastic to include at an afternoon or high tea event, or as part of a dessert tray. You could also use larger tart shells or a pie shell if this was your only dessert to share.
The mini tart shells I used were store bought - I had intended to make my own but when I saw these cute mini shells, I thought they looked perfect for the dish. If you want to make your own, check out the sweet pastry recipe here.
1. Bake mini tart shells from frozen for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
2. Place chocolate chips, cream, and butter into a heatproof bowl and place over a pan of gently boiling water for about 8 minutes. Take off heat, add lavender essential oil & mix well.
3. Spoon chocolate ganache into cooled tart shells and add a pinch of lavender buds if desired. Chill for 20 minutes and enjoy!
