Yummy Homemade Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Hey!! What made you click over to this page? Was it the mouthwatering title, the eye-catching photo or both?
More often than not, it’s the image….or at least a great photo with a snazzy title.
Think about it for a moment. How many times have you caught yourself scrolling through Pinterest and clicking on an image, even if you have NO IDEA what the title or caption said? Probably more often than you’d like to admit, right?
Why? I’m sure the photo grabbed your attention and you were drawn to find out more about that yummy, mouth-watering dish.
Photos are AMAZING!! It’s like they are your little secret weapon at increasing engagement and getting people to click through. Therefore, high-quality images should be used everywhere from your site, to your social media accounts, in ads, and ESPECIALLY for search engines like Pinterest. Using a high-quality photo is the KEY to gaining traffic, increasing leads and making more sales. What’s not to love about all of those things, right?!
BUT….Using a poor-quality photo could also be one of the worst things you could do! Using a poor or lesser quality photo will only make you look unprofessional and could potentially turn your ideal customers away. You’re working hard and wanting to show off all of your hard work, right? You should at least take a great photo so that you can share it with everyone and be proud!
Ok, now that I’ve totally confused you by talking about photography instead of this yummy hot chocolate, I’ll tell you about my favorite homemade peppermint hot chocolate. Oh, and these truly are photos that I took while preparing it. The best part is that I took the ingredient photos while the milk was warming and then as soon as I mixed it and applied the topping, I was already done snapping away! It was quick and easy, peazy.
I took all of the photos with my Samsung Galaxy S7 and then edited them while I enjoyed my piping hot and mighty yummy mug of peppermint hot chocolate.
So, without further adieu….Yummy Homemade Peppermint Hot Chocolate
There are probably a million ways to make homemade hot chocolate, but one of my favorites is simply cocoa powder, organic sugar and peppermint essential oil... OH and don’t forget the whipped topping!
I LOVE hot chocolate. I love it so much, I’m somewhat of a hot chocolate snob. I mean, what’s not to love, right? Rich, creamy, warm… CHOCOLATE!! But ALL too often my hopes for a great cup of hot chocolate is squashed by poorly made hot chocolate. Sometimes, it’s a flavor thing and sometimes it’s just not enough mix.
Either way, the best part about making it from scratch is that you know exactly what you’re putting in it AND you get to determine how much mix to use.
A huge thank you to Amy for sharing your incredible photography skills (with a smartphone, no less!) and a delicious hot chocolate recipe to try out with the peppermint essential oil. Be sure to check out all of Amy's and connect with her on her website.
